Crafting Queen 4th Blog Anniversary

When I stared this blog on 12th December 2009 little did i know the journey that awaits. I still go back to see the work i did back then and how amateurish it used to be. But its been so exciting and enlightening and i have to thank each one of your for your support and encouragement! I have learnt and grown with each day and I am so thankful to the encouragement i have received.

Today Crafting Queen Blog has 274,506 page views and 223 followers with 2214 Likes on my Facebook Page!

Pregnancy Scrapbook

Ola!

Yeah am back! Now this was one fun project and yet very challenging for me. It was the first time i was doing a Scrapbook that captured the 9 months pregnancy journey for someone expecting a little angel early next year.

I actually took almost 2 months to complete this from scratch. I also came up with a new album binding that I had seen long ago over the net and gave it a try with my own thought. I think i really liked this over the ring binding maybe.  I guess I can improvise and improve it next time as well.

Priya was very happy and shared a feedback with me too

"Whosoever saw it couldn't believe that it was handmade. The finishing is so clean and perfect and the designing is creative. I wanted to make a scrapbook on my own but never ever in my dreams I could have made something even close to this. Thanks Karuna for creating a perfect baby shower gift."

So this is how the final cover looked like with a space to add a pic. Can you see the binding on the left edge? aint it neat?

So here begins the beautiful journey. In the left we have space for the daddy and mommy to be to add their pics and also write their first take on the big news.

On the right side page the couple can share their pic together and their thoughts can be scribbles in the little personal diary tied with a bow.

On the left there is space for pics from month 1 and month 2 along with few tags and journaling notes.

Similarly we have the space for Month 3 and Month 4 and a tag hidden behind the pic

Coming to Month 5, I created a little journal diary as requested by the client since its a month where a lot happens. And its that time when the "jeans get a little tight"

Next is Month 6 which was all about the baby bump and some food craving. So I added an additional flip flap to capture these.

They wanted to celebrate the baby showers in her Month 7. I made this page full of lively colours as requested and the space to add 6 pics too.

Month 8 is so close to every Mommies heart when you are just days away celebrating the labour of love. the little baby closet hides cute message tags which are kept from the baby shower day.

Finally Month 9 and its time! Thinking baby names.....wait is it gonna be a boy or a girl?

The last page carried the baby's pic and more journaling tags. I added a lil baby album on the right as well :)

I am back with another cute Name Scrapbook I finished recently. Its a very unique name - IHITA!  I love working with these colours so much can never get enough i guess!

Mermaid Theme Party Invites!

Ola Crafters!

Am back with another recent project I have worked on. The client wanted mermaid theme cards and she was keen that i make a something similar to what she had seen online by another crafter as seen here. So i do not take the credit of the originality of the idea :) but i still had to work on the design right from scratch in my software to get a shell shape and trust me it wasn't easy for me :P.

So let me first show you what I came up with...

I had to work on alot of ideas to get the right look and feel for the shell as i didnt have any texture papers. I also made it curve in a way to look more realistic :) Lots of blue shades were inked to make it look pretty. The Ariel image was picked from dear google too

When you open the shell you get pearl! Lol! Not literally but yes you definitely get invite to a fun party!

 And a Final shot i could get. Would you believe i took these pics in just 2 minutes before handing them over? Hence the poor shots.

I am posting after such a long time, not because I was not making anything new but there has been so much work off late at the store! And then i took a 5 day break away from work and enjoyed Diwali with my family back home!

I had finished this name book last month and just didnt get time to share with you guys yet. Loved the lil girl and had fun time embellishing this name scrapbook!

Birthday Guestbook plus a Birthday Album!

Hello everyone,

Hope you had a fantastic weekend!

I created this Birthday Guestbook for a little boy who was celebrating his first birthday last week! Just wanted to ensure the surprise element is there so I waited before sharing on my blog :) This was a gift from his aunt. As we discussed more about this guestbook i suggested we use the remaining pages to create a lil birthday album and make the complete album full with joy and fun! And voila the idea was well taken.

So its a guest book plus a birthday album. Lovely messages for the birthday boy along with sweet memories captured! some pages will remind you of my last guest book as well.

40th Birthday Party Decor and Cake Banner

Hello There!

I was super busy last week! I had 3 projects back to back and the last one is still on!

Quite hooked to party supplies off-late I recently got a request for a Masculine 40th birthday ideas. Since the venue would not allow for sticking anything on the walls or hanging from the ceiling, I suggested that the table centerpieces were the perfect for the surprise birthday. For the bottom boxes i used some old cartons and upcycled them by adding some party papers :) I am also participating in the Lessology challenge - Birthday Party. the tags actually depict all things the birthday boy enjoys!

Sweta was very happy with the final outcome and here is what she had to say

Pocket Card Album

Hello lovelies!

I am trying hard get back to Blogging off late but with a 7 weeks old pup running in between my feet all the time its actually turning out difficult but he is so cute. I am sure we will soon be crafting together more ;)

I keep seeing most of your creations too but hard pressed at times to leave some love. Am sure i have lost most of you as frequent visitors too considering am not doing much.

It's Raksha bandhan today and I totally miss my Brother. Its been couple of years since we have celebrated it together and more the reason to miss him. So how better to celebrate than send a handmade something?

Got into the crafting mood and made this cute Pocket Card Album. I did a similar one and you can see it HERE.

I planned to make it look rustic and masculine and i guess i did succeed. My brother called and said he loved it and that made my day!

Superhero Theme Birthday Party!!

Super happy to share this post!

This one is yet again close to my heart. Its so much fun when clients trust my judgement on the designing front. It lets me come out with the best ideas! so the birthday theme for a 6 year old was superheros!

so we decided to keep the invites focused on Batman theme and since they wanted table top centers to deck up the venue i suggested to have more Heroes and more colours! I did look around for some inspirations and so i cant take all the credit for everything here. But i had so much fun planning and executing it and had some great feedback as well.

Here is what Manika had to say about this project -

"Karuna helped me with s superhero theme party for my son's 6th Birthday. The birthday cards, table decor and superhero lollypops were such a hit! The colours, and eye for detail were amazing. all the kids were crazt about the lollypops and so was my son. I would encourge folks to try out her work. I should have gotten Karuna to decorate and do up craft work for my sons room - next time for sure."

Hey crafters,

I had fun making another namebook made to order. It was for the recipients niece who celebrated her Birthday with a Princess theme so I decided to try the pretty Princess Fairytale Designer Paper Pack 12"X12". It had some gorgeous accents that added to the look.
