Something New..

Heya,

Its been quite sometime that i tried something new.I have been looking at youtube every now and then and just been amazed with the possibilities of new things we can make with the existing craft supply. Talk bout being frugal ;)

I had seen these flowers made from Nestabilities Scalloped Dies and i thought bout giving it a shot. And i think i kinda passed. I have just run the die cuts through my CB and did some distressing with contrasting colours on either sides. Since i so loved the orange i wanted to highlight it and keep the blue as a background. So i added some stamping in Distress Inks Faded Jeans with my new Inkadinakdo Stamps to create a background on the lovely Fabriano sheet. The Bling ribbon has been lying in stack like forever... finally it saw the daylight ;) And my fav rhinestones :) What say?

This card goes for the following Challenges :)

My Time to Craft Chalenge - Use a Die Cut

Kaboodle DoodlesDISTRESS, RIP, TEAR, CRUMPLE

Crazy challenges - 1+2+3 (1 Bling Ribbon, 2 colours, 3 Rhinestones)

There is Magic in the air : Make your own Flowers

Supplies: Elle Ere Fabriano!, Distress Inks, Ribbon from Rak,
Rhinestones. Inkadinakdo Clear Stamps

ICR Dhin Chak Dhin n for Kavi!

Hey,

The heat has taken a a toll on me. Am falling sick every 3rd day here.... yes am new to Delhi heat :( So i got back to card making to distract myself. what would be better than a challenge card.

At ICR we have a Photo Challenge running and the key theme is to make it all blingy!! My inspiration was the bright hues and i picked yellow as the base and yes the handmade flowers as embellishment. The glitter strip were made using a tape runner and MS glitters (another handmade effort here for a background). I totally love it! I also used my new Heat Gun from my Crafting Queen Store to fix it permanently at speed 1. Thats the good part... its has 2 speed controls...talk bout multi taskers ;) Bad news is a month back my Marvy Ulcida heat gun died!! I don't know why and how but am glad i finally have a heat gun with Indian power settings!!

Ok back to my card. I added some purple to tone down all the bling embossed with with my CB and patted with with Distress Ink to enhance the design.. The Flowers are handmade and repeatedly embossed with clear embossing powder to add the shine.

Heres my card :) Sorry about the poor photo quality. The card does look brighter in reality

Supplies: El Erre Fabriano, Embossed sheet in Cuttele bug,
Handmade spiral flowers, Old Cloth Tag for sentiment, Inkadinkado Stamps

A Closer look at the embossed flowers made with patterned papers.

Stamped Watermark Pad and Embossed with Black Embossing Powder

I am also entering this card for Kavi's Guest Challenge. I loved the flowers taught by Anita and they are on my to do list for now :)

 Cheers!

Anniversary Card

Hey,

What a lovely weather we are having today at Delhi!! It rained a day ago and the after effects look fab!! Just makes you forget work and have some fun. :) I hope it keeps the sun away few more days, 41 degrees of heat is quite unbearable considering am not used to the Delhi heat. Ok here's a long post i have with some tips and update on the challenge running on my blog but first the card with the coordinating envelop :)

I am entering it for the following Challenges:
Paper take weekly - Anything Goes
Crafty creations challenges - Anniversary
Craft your passion challenges - Anything Goes
Kaboodle doodles - I's the B's knees (Bling, Butterfly)
Divas by design challenge - Anything Goes

So here's a card i made for a very special couple my husband i know. I made this card in 2 hours which is a record for me, considering i take a lota time planning. Maybe i had an idea about the colours and the look which made it easy. I have been putting an extra effort off late to use left over PP and other die cuts lying around. Wait till you see the baby scrapbook i have been working on since last 1 month!!! Yes it took me that long :) But all the effort was totally worth it. Will upload it by this weekend if Hubby dear agrees to click nice and clear pics by then :)

So the background has been stamped with leaves from a bigger stamp you see on the envelop. You have to be careful to not let the colour spill to the rest of the stamp :) So this is a tip to use a part of a bigger stamp if you ever wish to :) I have also embossed it with some pastel dark green colour to give a smooth finish. Some distressing on the PP which have been punched with MS.I have used the hand-made flower which i had made long back along with left over punched butterflies and lotsa Bling. Doesn't it look gorgeous?

I used a Left over oval scallop die cut, distressed it with sme Memento inks and did a hand written sentiment using my new embossing Pen. Another tip is on using the Embossing Pen. Its my new fav! Its perfect tool to doodle and write your own sentiments when you don't have the right stamp or image. Not just that its also useful to cover up the missing part of stamped images when the stamping(with watermark/embossing pad) doesn't happen well in the first go. So after you finish the heating you can doodle freehand on the missing areas and re-do the embossing powder sprinkle and heat it. I did so in the Mother's day card when the flowers petals were missing in between due to less pressure in certain areas while stamping with the watermark. Hope this helps you in your next attempt at Heat embossing.

Don't forget i have a challenge for "Making a Card with only Heat Embossing" running till 20th May!

Cheers!
