ICR challenge and More!

Hey all,

I know i haven't posted much off late and  i hope i have not been forgotten.... of course i keep popping up on most of your blogs and love seeing what my blogger frds are upto! :) I have been sick thruout the week and finally getting back on track... the heat got on to me.... :(

This post is specially for the ICR Challenge. I am not getting much time these days with work load increasing and hence not many cards offlate. But i wanted to make a card for mommy dearest and also participate in the ICR challenge and am glad i made it. its 30th Apr today!! See how work on deadlines ;)

So here's another card made just with stamping and embossing and lotsa cardstock layering. The stamps is the mothers day set Micia Stamp and the embossing powders are from the pastel and pearl series available on my craft store. I had alota fun making this once and my interpretation for the ICR challenge was
I - Inspiration (to do new with embossing powders)
C - colours (as ICR wanted - Red/Maroon, Yellow and Green)
R- Rainbow effect :)

With this card i also make my entry in dear Tejals lovely candy ;)

Next news is i got the Stylish Blog award from my favourite Eeenzy Beenzy and the very talented male crafter of our community Aditya. As i saw most of you have already received this award so i let it be an open ward to all blogies who have been missed out. Please do pop up this award on your blog if you haven't so far!! I think you all r a rockstar in your unique way :) I had received this award last year from Juhi and have already shared 8 random thing bout me :)

Now for something interesting.... i have been getting alot of "u made a card with embossing alone?". Yep i did and i know you can too.... so am opening a challenge on "Make a card with only heat embossing" and link it to Mr.linky below before 20th May! Please no back linking :) rules are simple. And yes i have a surprise gift for one lucky winner!

Cheers!

Creating sceneries with Heat Embossing

Heya,

So am back after a real long break after finishing with the new embossing products i got on the Crafting queen Store recently!! I couldn't wait to try these myself! I have loved heat embossing ever since i learnt about it! Most people think embossing powders just add extra dimension to a stamped image or  a sentiment or at max to make some background but embossing products go way beyond! I had once come across a tutorial which showcased how to make a whole scenery yes a whole scenery for your projects!! The card you see here has been made by just stamping with a watermark pad and then carefully adding different embossing powders in layers to get the effect right :) I have used the Micia Stamps and the pastel embossing powder range and and few from pearl series for the shimmer effect which are also available on the store :) I think having a whole set of embossing powders is a great idea especially when they run a long way!!! You can make 100's of such small sceneries this way! If you think having a lighter and darker shades of same colour is useless -think again. :) It adds a real nice touch when you wanna give the shading in such sceneries! check my background for the water effect :)

Ok so this card is for dear Hubby. He has been feeling ignored off late, with me being busy with the craft store and the stocks and packing and orders. So i wanted to remind him that he's my best fish in the big ocean :) yep those words are in there :) I actually loved the outcome. From a plain card stock to a textured coloured aquarium filled with love.... the colours came out gorgeously though i had initial hic up using the embossing pen to colour the fishies!! I must say its a its one helluva tool!

Sorry for the bad pic :( I took it in a hurry and its not even straight (was to too excited to share). The card looks brighter in reality!!

This card also goes for:
Creative Craft challenges - Embossing
For Fun Challenges - Choose colours- pink, blue, purple, green, yellow

PS - I am actually upset i missed Ujjwal's Challenge :(

Cheers!

Mini Book

Dear Friends,

I have been MIA as i have been so tied up with this one special order i got. My dearest friend who is more than a sister now wanted to present a card to her finance (Who is also my very good friend and loves my handmade creations!) on his birthday. When she saw my cards she wanted something in the resist technique but i took it to a all new level knowing that she wanted alota space to write messages i figured that she would love the mini book idea. They are my favourite couple and i spent alota time to ensure it comes out pretty and that took me like 10 days! Yes on and off along with work n kitchen ;)

I surprised myself with the results and i don't think i have made anything as pretty till date. I love this feeling! This was my first attempt but i think i will make more of these! I have used stamping, MS punches, Die Cuts etc. I have tried punches for the cover and loved the 3D effect it gives. You can also see the new MICIA stamps from my Store all over this mini book :)

I am also entering this card for the following challenges:
Fab n Funky challenge Shabby chic
A Spoonful of sugar Tons of Texture
Digi Doodle Shops Best Happy Birthday
Moving along with the times - More Than 1 fold
Little Claires Designs Springs Celebrations

The Mini Book with all the folds

Cheers
